Newsletter 2022
Greetings!

One has to be grateful for all the good things we have in life.  My friends, relatives and I are in good health and for that I am grateful.

I'm grateful that our new Mayor, Karen Bass, is dedicated to solving the homeless problem in Los Angeles and that our President, Joe Biden, condemns the rise of antisemitism and the Holocaust deniers in America.

Everybody Dance L.A.! is the 2022 winner of the Jane Zachary Endowment for the Arts Award.

Everybody Dance L.A.! provides free high quality dance education giving in-school and after school classes to over five thousand young people.  The program reaches over thirty locations in low-income areas.

The recipient of the Albert & Malca Pasternak Mitzvah Grant for 2022 is Sophie Fouladi, an outstanding Bat Mitzvah student at Temple Emanuel of Beverly Hills. The Temple will receive a matching gift. Sophie Fouladi  has been a Madricha at her religious school helping younger students understand and read Hebrew more fluently. She loves musical theater and has been accepted to perform with OAKE, a National Conference Choir. We congratulate Sophie Fouladi and wish her continued success.

This year, the Sol & Evelyn Zuckerman Memorial Trust contributed to the following charities: American Cancer Society; Arthritis Foundation, Boys Town, Disabled American Veterans, Doctors Without Borders, Los Angeles Mission, Meals on Wheels, Wayfinder Family Services, and my alma mater, The High School of Performing Arts in New York City.

Best Wishes to all in 2023 for a safe, healthy and Happy New Year!

Sincerely,
Jane Zachary
Daughter of the late Sol & Evelyn Zuckerman
