Newsletter 2023

Greetings!

It’s been a turbulent year for the Trust and the world.

The rise of anti-Semitism in our colleges and cities is shocking and alarming. One can only hope that Hamas will be eliminated, and Israelis can live in peace.

Personally, in addition to giving Stretch & Tone classes at Belmont Village in Westwood, I’ve added Sunrise Assisted Living in Beverly Hills. I’m very grateful for the opportunity to use my dance training to improve the health and fitness for Seniors.

The 2023 recipient of the Albert & Malca Pasternak Mitzvah Grant is Alma Abramzon, a Bat Mitzvah student at Temple Emanuel of Beverly Hills.

The Trust recognizes Alma’s achievement as a guide and leader to younger Temple students and we applaud her letter writing campaign supporting the Israeli Defense Forces defending Israel.

Temple Emanuel will receive a matching gift. And we wish Alma continued success.

The recipient of the Jane Zachary Endowment for the Arts Award is Everybody Dance LA!

Everybody Dance LA! provides free, high quality dance education by giving in-school and after school classes to over seven thousand students. The program reaches over thirty locations in low income areas, “Transforming lives and communities through the power of dance.” We salute Everybody Dance LA!

This year the Trust has contributed to the following charities: Boys Town, Disabled American Veterans, Los Angeles Mission, Lakota Indians, Meals on Wheels, and my Alma Mater the High School of Performing Arts in New York City.

Best wishes to all for a safe, healthy and Happy 2024!

Sincerely,

Jane Zachary.
